What Happened to Kimora Lee Simmons?!

11:15

Remember Kimora Lee Simmons from the early noughties? The beautiful asian yummy mummy who quite perfectly summarised the phrase 'mutton dressed as lamb' in her pink velour tracksuits? Do you remember frequently mistaking her for Tila Tequila because they were both shiny haired TV personalities drenched in diamonds and far-too-frilly, far-too-pink dresses?

Kimora has just brought out her Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection, and I am astounded and almost disappointed at how wearable it all actually is! Where is the bad taste? No satin? Jut clean lines and sophisticated, modest silhouettes. Even more stunning in their simplicity are the mannish tailored pinstripe two-pieces that look straight out of a Swedish independent boutique.

You have to admire Kimora for doing something that many designers stray away from - staying with the times, even if it completely collides with your original brand vision. This adaption will ensure Kimora Lee Simmons still has a place in a market where work wear is more and more intertwined with the influences designer fashion and day wear becomes more thoughtful and considered.

You can shop the almost woefully classic line at www.kls.com, but for those of you who remember 2005, you'll be happy to know that you can still buy wonderfully tacky Baby Phat perfume from the creatively named Perfume.com.
