Proud To Be European

I don't believe in Nationalism, but in a strong sense of solidarity and unity as Europeans fighting to promote the values that the European Union shares: Democracy, free expression, freedom of religion, and tolerance. The right to mock, and to deride religion is included in the freedom of expression clause, so long as it does not go on to incite religious violence. I have never been more proud to be european that at the spontaneous vigil organised for the victims of the horrific attacks on the offices of Charlie Hebdo yesterday. European politicians and workers were coming straight out of the parliament, with printed out signs and candles, to join an already busy vigil in the centre of the square. And if that doesn't make you proud to be a part of The European Community I don't know what will.
